Meet the Staff
SCOTT HANDE, MD
Dr. Scott Hande is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated Cum Laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology. He pursued his medical education at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital located in Boston, MA. Dr. Hande joined Gastroenterology and Hepatology Associates in 2008 and became a partner of the practice in 2009. Dr. Hande has received several awards throughout his medical career and is a member of several professional societies. Some include:
- The Albert Weinstein Prize in Medicine from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
- The Oscar Crofford Award in Diabetes/Endocrine Research from Vanderbilt *University School of Medicine

Dr. Hande is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He and his wife, Karen, have three children and they enjoy spending time with family and close friends. Dr. Hande’s hobbies include basketball, reading and going to the movies.
